Fort Myer Thrift Shop

Echoing Green awarded the Armed Services Arts Partnership its 2015 Global Fellowship. The fellowship grants ASAP funding over the course of two years, and provides the leadership team with critical resources and support from the Echoing Green staff and network. 

The S&R Foundation awarded the Armed Services Arts Partnership its Halcyon Fellowship. Along with funding, the Halcyon Incubator provided ASAP with free space in Georgetown, strategic support, and staff and institutional resources. 

The Southeast Virginia Community Foundation's Chisholm House Fund granted money to specifically support piano and guitar classes for the veterans and military families of Hampton Roads.

The Williamsburg Community Foundation granted funds to support the 2015-2016 programming of the Hampton Roads Veterans Writing Group.

The Weiss Family Foundation generously sponsored the Armed Services Arts Partnership's Spring 2016 Comedy Bootcamp in Hampton Roads. This gift will empower 10 veterans to learn stand-up comedy, develop their communication skills and confidence, and heal among a supportive community of veterans. 

 

The Virginia Commission for the Arts awarded the Armed Services Arts Partnership a grant to support its Fall 2016 Comedy Bootcamp course in Hampton Roads.      

                                                                                                                                                                              The Fort Myer Thrift Shop awarded its Community Grant to the Armed Services Arts Partnership to support the organization's Fall 2016 Comedy Bootcamp course in Washington DC.                                         

The Armed Services Arts Partnership partners with the Travis Manion Foundation as the community beneficiary for their annual 9/11 Heroes Run in Alexandria, VA.


Corporate

Barclays Veterans Network sponsored the Armed Services Arts Partnership's NYC Veterans Comedy Show at Gotham Comedy Club in Spring 2016.                                                                                                      

Google collaborates with the Armed Services Arts Partnership to have our alumni deliver performances for the tech company's various veterans initiatives. 

The Armed Services Arts Partnership partners with CEB  both to provide entertainment at the company's veteran-related events, and to receive pro bono human resources support.                                                      

Through the Logistics Management Institute's employee giving program, the Armed Services Arts Partnership received funding to support its programs in Hampton Roads.

McGuireWoods LLP provides the Armed Services Arts Partnership pro bono legal services. The firm has supported ASAP throughout the business formation, 501(c)(3) designation, and trademarking process.

Arnold & Porter LLP provides the Armed Services Arts Partnership pro bono legal services. The firm has supported ASAP with state registrations, charitable solicitations, and human resources.                              

Fitzwater & Dean provides the Armed Services Arts Partnership with bookkeeping, budgeting, and accounting support on a pro bono basis.                                                                                                                                                   

ScoutComms provides pro bono strategy and communications support to meet the Armed Services Arts Partnership's evolving marketing and development needs.

Class & Performance

Joint base Langley -Eustis

                                                                                                                                                                                On October 19, 2016, the Armed Services Arts Partnership hosted a first-of-its-kind comedy show at The White House. The performance featured eight veteran alumni of ASAP's Comedy Bootcamp program.        

The DC Improv hosts the Washington DC Comedy Bootcamp class and graduation show at no cost. Chris Coccia, one of ASAP's comedy instructors in DC, is also the lead comedy instructor at the DC Improv.          

Dog Tag Bakery and the Armed Services Arts Partnership collaborate to offer a monthly "Veterans Open Mic" series featuring veteran and military artists/performers from DC. 

 

The Writer's Center provides the Armed Services Arts Partnership with in-kind access to its space, supporting 10- week creative writing classes and the DC Veterans Writing Group.                               

The Chrysler Museum of Art provides the Armed Services Arts Partnership with in-kind access to its space to host public readings and Hampton Roads Veterans Writing Group sessions. 

 

The Unified Scene Theater, and its owner USAF Veteran Shawn Westfall, host the Armed Services Arts Partnership improv classes and performances in Washington DC.                                                                    

 

The Push Comedy Theater in Norfolk, VA donates its space to host periodic performances and comedy workshops for the Armed Services Arts Partnership. 

 

The Virginia Beer Company and the Armed Services Arts Partnership collaborate to offer a monthly "Veterans Open Mic" series featuring veteran and military artists/performers from Hampton Roads. 

 

The Armed Services Arts Partnership partners with the Atlantic Council's Art of Future Warfare Project to run an annual creative writing contest open to veterans, service members, and military families. 

 

The Warner Theatre and Department of Veterans Affairs invited our veteran comedians to open for a special veterans/military performance that they hosted in Summer 2016. 

 

In Spring 2016, the Armed Services Arts Partnership's Comedy Bootcamp alumni performed for the inpatients and outpatients at Walter Reed National Medical Center.                                                                   

The Armed Services Arts Partnership has collaborated with Joint Base Langley-Eustis to perform multiple comedy shows for the service member and military families on base.                                                                

William & Mary provides the Armed Services Arts Partnership with in-kind access to classrooms and performance venues across campus.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Georgetown University provides the Armed Services Arts Partnership with in-kind access to classrooms on main campus and at the School of Continuing Studies. 

                                                                                                                                                                              The Torpedo Factory Art Center and Armed Services Arts Partnership partner to host quarterly comedy shows featuring veterans, service members, and military family members from the DC Metro Area.

 

The Coalition Theater and Armed Services Arts Partnership collaborate to host improv classes for veterans, service members, and military family members in the Richmond, VA area.   

 

The Armed Services Arts Partnership partners with Story District to offer storytelling classes for veterans, service members, and military family members on the DC Metro Area.                                                              

The Armed Services Arts Partnership collaborates with the Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company to offer free performance workshops for veterans, service members, and military families. 

                                                                                                                                                                                    The Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation invited the Armed Services Arts Partnership to host a performance and panel as part of the foundation's Annual Grantee Summit. 

Alumni of ASAP's Comedy Bootcamp program delivered a performance and talk as part of NationSwell's annual NationSwell Live event in NYC.

Global Shapers Norfolk partners with the Armed Services Arts Partnership to host performances and provide volunteer support in Hampton Roads. 

                                                                                                                                                                                    The Armed Services Arts Partnership worked with the Afghan Women's Writing Project to host a reading featuring Afghan women and U.S. veterans of the War in Afghanistan.

                                                                                                                                                                              The Armed Services Arts Partnership partners with The Academy of Music in Norfolk to offer scholarships for one-on-one music lessons to veterans, service members, and military families.
