Jose Roman | PROGRAM COORDINATOR, Hampton Roads

Jose Roman is an alumni of ASAP's comedy and improv programs, as well as the Co-Founder of the Hampton Roads Veterans Writing Group. Jose served 22 years in the United States Navy, with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. His military honors include the Navy Commendation Medal with “V” device for Valor, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Presidential Unit Citation and Combat Action Ribbon. Jose went on to earn a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Communications and Management at Old Dominion University (ODU) and is pursuing a graduate degree in Organizational Leadership.  While at ODU, he established and grew the Student Veterans of America chapter on campus and was awarded a Mission Continues Fellowship to serve with Habitat for Humanity of Hampton Roads. Jose later founded Networking Veterans Group (NVG) to support transitioning service members in their search to find gainful employment and careers after serving. He remains a vocal, veteran advocate-at-large in the community.
