Comedy Writing With Carter Bays, Creator of How I Met Your Mother

OverviEW

ASAP is excited to announce our first free comedy writing workshop with Carter Bays, Creator and Executive Producer of How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM). In this workshop, you will learn about Carter's approach to writing great stories. We will begin with a short overview of some key fundamentals, including character development, act structure, and storytelling. Then, just as in a writer's room, you will have the chance to create an episode of How I Met Your Mother alongside one of the industry's top showrunners. We will finish the workshop off with a Q&A session and discussion of next steps. Our hope is that when you leave, you will feel prepared to begin writing your own original TV comedy scripts.
